The lyrics
IntroFollow the money… all the way from Tallahassee.
Verse 1Glossy mail in my mailbox, prettier than the sea
Pushin’ all eight changes, and a shot at Randy
I flipped it over, read the fine print, and here’s just what I found:
One little suite in Tallahassee, payin’ for our town
Pre-chorusSame suite, same address (one-fifteen!)
Wrote a check to DeNapoli eight days ’fore he won…
ChorusNOT FOR SALE! (Not for sale!)
This little beach town’s NOT FOR SALE!
You can mail it from Tallahassee, you can pull on every string
But it’s our town, our vote, our say in everything
NOT FOR SALE! (Hey!)
LBTS is NOT FOR SALE!Verse 2Now he’s not on your ballot, he’s one vote out of five
But it only takes three hands to make a bad idea fly
The Mayor and Theo, right there on the line (three-two!)
Three-to-two, they pushed it through, time after time
ChorusNOT FOR SALE! (Not for sale!)
This little beach town’s NOT FOR SALE!
You can mail it from Tallahassee, you can pull on every string
But it’s our town, our vote, our say in everything
NOT FOR SALE! (Hey!)
LBTS is NOT FOR SALE!BridgeDouble the Mayor’s term? (NO!)
Ethics sent to Tallahassee? (NO!)
Six months here and you can run? (NO!)
New street names, and nobody told the neighbors? (NO!)
All eight on your ballot, what do we say?
NO! NO! NO on all eight!
Final chorusNOT FOR SALE! (Not for sale!)
This little beach town’s NOT FOR SALE!
Strauss and Goldberg, Ferguson too
NO on all eight, that’s what we’ll do!
NOT FOR SALE! (Hey!)
LBTS is NOT FOR SALE!OutroFollow the money… (not for sale)
…it stops right here.
Every line, on the record
- One little suite: the “Vote YES on 1–8” mailer and the mailer attacking Randy Strauss were both paid for by committees at 115 East Park Avenue, Suite 1, Tallahassee (the paid-for line on each mailer).
- “Wrote a check to DeNapoli”: his own 2024 campaign report lists a contribution by check from Florida Conservatives United, 115 E. Park Ave., Ste. 1, Tallahassee, dated March 11, 2024. He was elected March 19, 2024. His report, on the Town’s website.
- Three-to-two: DeNapoli, Mayor Malkoon and Commissioner Poulopoulos. The four-year Mayor (March 24, 2026) and all eight charter changes (May 26, 2026) passed 3–2, with Strauss and Graziano voting no.
- The bridge: Question 2 (four-year Mayor), Question 6 (ethics removals by a state board), Question 8 (the shorter residency rule), and the Sea Grape Drive and Commercial Boulevard name votes. “A bad idea” and “pull on every string” are our opinion.
All of it, with links: the two-votes email.
